This time not on my G35 but on my Audi A8.
I’m fairly certain I have a seized left rear caliper. The wheel itself was scorching hot when I got home today. Both the inner and outer brake pads on that side were damn near completely worn out (evenly) too.
I cannot get the caliper piston to rotate and retract (per this design). It wont even budge with channel lock pliers.
F@%K.
So, a new caliper is on order as we speak.

Sure you couldn’t just rebuild the old caliper? Not an impossible task, by any means.

Winter has taken its toll and also, I need this car running ASAP so a family member can continue to drive it.

What’s the delivery time on the caliper? Might still be faster to rebuild. There’s not really much risk in doing it, either. Still, after returning the core, calipers aren’t that expensive; just thought I’d throw the suggestion out there.

When I had a seized caliper on my pickup (and eventually two), we had to take a hammer and just bash the damn thing off.

Understood.
Everything I need for this particular car has to be ordered online or through the local Audi dealer. Cant rely on local parts stores. The new caliper will likely be here Tuesday with the fastest shipping speed I chose.
